Black nails

If you have a black finger nail, one might ask whether it is caused by a fungal infection under the nail. This could be the case, but other things cause a nail to turn black, so it is important to consider other options and perhaps talk to your doctor before jumping to conclusions.

fungal infections of nails and feet is called onychomycosis. Only a few fungal species are capable of invading hair and nails - often gothrough a break in the skin under the nail or the tip of the finger or toe. Because they found their nutrients from protein in human nails and dead skin cells to derive these fungi do not penetrate healthy tissue. Instead, they penetrate the matrix of the same nail and grow there, causing a black fingernail or toenail.

Onychomycosis is very common: more than ten percent of the U.S. population is a fungal infection of nails with experience at some point in their lives: it is likelythe most common cause of nail disorders in the general population, but there are other causes. One shot hit the nail is the most obvious alternative. If the root of a nail or a nail, so that the affected blood vessels are damaged and a bruise under the nail forms, has developed a black area, which lasts a very long time to resolve. Depending on the severity of bleeding, all the 'nail or the nail will be affected. Nails grow very slowly and bruises are slowlydisappears after the decay of pain - a black nail that is long after the initial injury no reason for concern persists. It will grow over time.

Nail lesions are, however, the route of entry for other organisms that can live both in and under the nail, without a problem or an infection in exposed tissues. Some bacteria are known to colonize areas in nail beds without infection. Some of these bacteria produce a color change, although there are shades of greenfrom the typical black. The colonies of bacteria can persist for long periods without significant inflammation. can set different types of yeast infections and severe progressive nail bed and the tissue around the nail, but these infections are generally not a black hoof, and are generally heavy enough that the need for ongoing medical care. Yeast infections are in fact another form of onychomycosis.

If you do not drive a nail and the woundThe black fingernail slowly and causes the nail is too thick, deformed and brittle, you may need to onychomycosis. Normally, infected nails are white, yellow, brown or black, and variations of these colors may be available. The infection often starts on a toenail, and other fingers and toes, and is very resistant to treatment. If you suspect you have a fungal nail infection, make an appointment with the doctor for a proper diagnosis.
